This little tool is useful for more things than just mounting on top of a Stew Mac pedestal. You can mount it on your workbench and have a standard Total Vise docking station. I attached one to a thick piece of laminated maple, then I bolt/unbolt the maple to my workbench. It is super rigid, yet I can put it on or take it off the workbench very quickly. It hangs away from the edge of the bench in a way that is useful for my purposes. A handy alternative to the quick docking stations.
